Renovations! Renovations! Ending soon!

I missed you last night, I had full intentions of writing but I was playing apprentice whilst Adrian was finalising our pool fence late last night. He is still working on it tonight before inspection tomorrow, so here is the latest view of our pool area....

I've been updating my personal Facebook page with the before and after shots, so for those that didn't see our beautiful courtyard (which is what I fell in love with the first time we went through this house!) here is our once upon a time courtyard....

We had some lovely times here and these pictures are also very dear to me, our courtyard steps. These are my professional photos of my 4th pregnancy with baby Zali.....

And Mietta last Christmas....

So goodbye our beautiful green and lush court yard and hello to our future pool deck area!!!!

I'll post more pics again but for now, just wanted to touch base and say g'day and if anyone needs someone to put up a glass pool fence, we are the professionals!! Adrian also did this down at our beach house in Lorne and I am now skilled with spigots, nuts, screws, alan keys and shifters!! Sheesh it's hard work but I think we did a pretty good job for 2 people that aren't skilled in building pool fences. Fingers crossed it gets approved in the morning.

All in all, a great clean eating day! No sugar, no chocolate for a change!

Breakfast
Pear and strawberry oats with pecan nuts

Morning snack
180 Nutrition coconut protein drink
1 apple

I met up with Celeste for brunch today and she also helped me out with my burlesque fancy dress outfit, so I look forward to sharing those pics with you in the next couple of weeks.

Lunch
Fold over chicken with pesto and sun dried tomatoes served with salad

Afternoon snack
Hummus, cherry tomatoes and crackers

Dinner
Thai chicken with vegetables and cherry tomatoes

  1. That is a very pretty courtyard, but the pool will be so lovely. Good on you and Adrian for doing it all yourselves. It is hard work, but so worth it in the end, o rewarding.

    1. Thanks Milina, Adrian has assured me once the blue water is in there I will have a resort at my door step and I will forget about our luscious green courtyard, hmmm....we'll see! We are surrounded by bushland so I guess there will still be greenery, all I see is decking and a big hole! I'll need to get some pot plants and bring some life into the pool deck area. All in all, very blessed to have this luxury. Thanks so much for leaving a comment, it makes my day! XxDani

  2. Come the real summertime babe, you'll enjoy the morning laps and the kids are going to go nuts in it! Mine love the pool and don't ever wont to get out... they still want to go in during the winter months! It's going to be beautiful! BBQ's over looking the blue/green water and you'll still have plants and shrubs everywhere looking back at you! It's going to be gorgeous! I was wondering if Adrian was a trady... so job well done guys! (you've got your own Jamie Durie going on there!) A little slice of heaven is transforming into an oasis! It'll be hard to choose where you'll spend your time now... home or in Lorne! Doing it tough babe!

    1. You're absolutely right! I guess I'm a visual person and can't see that oasis just yet. But it's coming. No Adrian isn't a qualified builder but he doesn't need the paperwork in my eyes. He's got so much talent in this area and owes it all to his Dad. Although between you and I, he's definitely got skill and talent when it comes to building and fixing things. The only thing my Father could do was change a light bulb! So I am pleased that our kids will learn all these things from him.

You know you're always welcome for a swim anytime xx Dani

  5. Oh my gosh your meals for the day sound delish! I always wonder how people manage to clean eat and not get bored but I guess all it takes really is a little imagination. Hmm.. I feel like hummus with cherry tomatoes now :)

  8. Hi Dani, We never met but I am a friend of Celeste's... I moved to QLD in January :) I love your blog, so inspirational!

Just wondering what the bread is around your chicken foldover? It looks delicious!

Also, do you recommend any websites on clean eating and fitness? I am aiming to lose about 30-40kg and have no idea where to start. I have always felt like the fat chick when out shopping and I have had enough. It seems overwhelming and I want to be able to run but I have never ever enjoyed it or even made more than 100m without conking out.

    Have a great christmas!

  9. I can’t say enough how daring you were to make this huge change on your outdoor space, Dani. It’s quite a risk to convert a courtyard to a pool deck. But the good thing is you can create the same splendid memories there. Company is what matters most, after all. :] I’ve seen the squat challenge you’ve had on the wooden deck, and I certainly didn’t make a wrong assumption! It just scared me at first to see that you had no enclosure. The glass fence surely did fool me! XD

    1. Hello Julio!!!! Yes indeed, it's such a different space and you hit the nail on the head!!! It's all about the memories!!! Yes, we have finally got the pool enclosed and safe for our children. The glass fence does connect us with our bush setting and we love it!!! Thanks so much for stopping by. Truly means the world to me xxDani
